      Hi,
      Thanks for the question. There could be different explanations of why a person may be likely to believe this conspiracy theory. It could be down to being mistrustful of official sources of information – so doubting the credibility of the government and scientists. This mistrust may go on to lead them to question scientific evidence, and then believe conspiracy theories such as this.
