      Hi, thanks for the question!

There was a lot that I loved about my degree, but the thing I enjoyed most was the ability to tailor my course to what I was interested in. First of all, I was able to study both psychology and criminology which was great for an indecisive person like me! Every year we had ‘core modules’, a bit like when you have to take maths and sciences for example. The rest were called ‘electives’ and we could pick these from any course in the university. This meant that I could still pick classes that were related to my degree, so I did one course which was called ‘Murder’ and was all about serial killers. You could also do others which were completely unrelated. I studied a class on International Relations which then meant that I could study abroad in America for 6 months and I also learnt Arabic for a while which was really fun.

This really helped me to figure out what I did and didn’t like to do and it also meant that I met a lot of new people who were on completely different courses to me. You do pay a lot of money to be at the university so it’s really important to get what you want out of it and try different experiences and opportunities.
