• Question: Looking at the other psychologists profiles on this website I have noticed that a lot of them, including yourself, have a passion for music. Why do you think there may be this correlation between people being interested in psychology and music?

There are two reasons I think we all are interested in music, besides the possibility of a coincidence. The first is that psychology is largely the study of emotions and music is the expression of emotions, so people fascinated by emotions generally will be drawn to both disciplines. The second is that we’ve all gone through tons of education and learning an instrument can make that just a bit easier. People who learn an instrument will have a bit of a bump in their IQ and learn skills that might help them get through a ton of schooling. I made a video about how exactly music can do that if you’re interested in learning more about it.
