• Question: How long does it typically take to assess a mentally ill patient and diagnose them?

      Hi! 🙂 Interesting question! For my experience each evalutation session lasts almost 45 minutes-1 hour because it’s better that the patient isn’t tired during the testing, otherwise the reliabiltiy of the tests is not good. For the diagnosis, it depends of the patentient’s problems, because if the diagnosis is frequent in the population is easier to diagnose it. However, many times is not so simple, so it is necessary to evaluate the patient many times. Moreover, to understand the causes of a problem (biological, social, etc…), it requires times. There’s not actually a general rule to apply to every patient.
