Hi Farah! 🙂 Thank you for your question! Yes it has been very different! In Italy I had a lot of difficulties to work in research because the government doesn’t invest a lot of money and I think that it is a shame because the progress of a nation relies on reseach! For this reason, I almost worked without means and funds. Actually I had no fellowship to do my PhD so I payed by myself the rent and everything to work during my PhD. It was really hard but I think that if I didn’t live some challenges in my life I wouldn’t be to work at UCL with a very prestigious European fellowship. I think that the difficulties are always good to make people more aware of what they want for their own life.
Anyway, here I have what I need to do well my job and I’m very happy for this!
      All the best,
      Maria
