      Good question,
It is always good to discuss with other professionals so you can get more than one opinion on something. It is very important to talk to the person involved too as well as their family. We are faced with a lot of ethical dilemmas and there are many sets of guidelines to keep you on the right track too to make the best decision. A lot of the time I ask myself the question ‘is what I am doing intended to help? Is it harming anyone? Is it for my own gain or their benefit? If I can answer Yes, no, no to those three, I know I am on the right track but I would always check it with someone else too for a second opinion.

Hi Farah! 🙂 Thank you for your question! To perform our studies we have strict ethics guidelines to follow to make sure that everything is well done. Before to perform a study we need an approval of the ethics committee of the university in my case to be sure that every aspect of the study follow these rules. Moreover, it is always required to explain the study in the details to the participant and they can leave the study in every moment. Participants can perform a study only if they sign a written informed consent in which they declare to participate to the study.
      All the best,
      Maria
